How to Celebrate Raksha Bandhan
On Raksha Bandhan, sisters prepare a special Rakhi thali with sweets, a diya (lamp), kumkum, and the Rakhi. The brother and sister sit together, and the sister applies tilak (a mark) on her brother’s forehead. And also ties the Rakhi on his wrist, and performs an aarti (ritual of worship).
